As parents of 2 neurodivergent children, it can feel very lonely and isolating at times. For those on the outside, they don’t see the daily struggles for our children nor us as parents. They don’t understand and think “you’re overacting” or the classic “it’s just bad behaviour”. Speaking with Mel, allowed for very open and sometimes hard conversations to be had. And in the end, it became more about support for us as parents and how we manage/react to situations with our son.
It’s said it takes a village to raise a child; Mel is most definitely part of our village.
